the upside of having days off mid-week in a work week is that everyone else is busy. spent all of yesterday in the apartment. saved up energy for tonight’s climbing. (monday involved utter fatigue and a significant number of wounds with trickles of blood. win.)
made grand plans to travel around the uk by train with admirable friends in july. had the mexico ticket for february delivered. spent lots of time drinking sparkling water in bars. bonded over online gaming and created faux headlines. other than that loads of climbing which now includes credible nods from veteran young men over my fancy shoes. things are nice.
miesten vuoro (steam of life)
been spending a lot of time at the cinema lately. first I thought there was nothing that could match easy a as the best movie I’ve seen in five years (probably in the top five marathon list of high school films), but then I saw the finnish documentary miesten vuoro (steam of life). it’s 84 minutes of finnish men discussing (often extraordinarily sad) life experiences.
